Looking for a new protein shake recipe?! Fall flavors are the perfect excuse to change things up. This Pumpkin Spice Protein Smoothie is just the treat you need to refuel post workout! It will feed your muscles and keep you satisfied long after! This smoothie is nutrient dense from the pumpkin and spinach and definitely fits the bill for healthy. It’s naturally sweetened with banana and filled with clean ingredients. You can use your favorite protein powder, I prefer Less Naked Nutrition Vanilla Whey. It only has 3 ingredients and is made from grass fed cow’s milk. They also have a vegan pea protein if you’re dairy free!
For even more protein I like to throw in a little plain nonfat greek yogurt, it also makes a creamier smoothie. I always use a frozen banana to make my smoothies and shakes thick and cold without adding ice. I love to add some oats for extra grains, I prefer organic gluten free sprouted oats. Finally, pumpkin pie spice gives this Pumpkin Protein Smoothie that fall flare and that’s pretty much it!
Tips:
- If you want to make this dairy free, use a plant based protein and yogurt.
- To save time you can make this ahead and store in an insulated smoothie cup. If you’re doing it overnight keep it in the refrigerator.
- If you’re not a fan of whey, make it a Pumpkin Protein Smoothie, just take out the protein powder and up the greek yogurt to about a 1/4 cup.
Grab your blender and enjoy!
