Holiday Cookie Gift Box

by Bri Butz

‘Tis the season for baking and gifting, two of my favorite things! Why not bake your gift? There’s something about a home baked gift that warms the heart…and fills the belly of course! This adorable holiday cookie gift box has all of my favorites from the Christmas bake list! It’s the perfect way to say Happy Holidays to friends, family and neighbors!

What to put inside?!

I love to fill my boxes with all my go-to Christmas cookies. Another fun treat I threw in this year is my homemade hot chocolate mix and pumpkin spice granola. All of these tasty recipes are linked below to help you make your cookie gift box special!

Vanilla Bean Sugar Cookies: The perfect cut-out cookies for decorating filled with lots of yummy vanilla bean flavor!

Italian Knot Cookies:  Traditional Italian Knot cookies with a little twist. Adding ricotta makes for a soft, moist cookie! Both vanilla & lemon versions can be found in the recipe.

Blueberry Forgotten Cookies: These delicious meringue treats are one of my favorites year round! This recipe is not my own, it comes from Chef Sarah Grueneberg. Chef and Owner of Monteverde Restaurant in Chicago. Every time we go there for dinner I can’t wait to bite into these cookies for dessert! They’re also gluten-free which is always a plus to accommodate everyone!

Soft Ginger Molasses Cookies:  I found this recipe a few years ago and it’s always a crowd pleaser.  These soft baked ginger molasses cookies are soooo good, I guarantee you’ll get requests for more!

Skinny Hot Chocolate: The perfect balance of sweet and chocolate without all the sugar!

Pumpkin Spice Granola: A fall favorite that I seem to eat year round. It’s a great way to top your yogurt and berries or just eat by the handful!

Finishing Touches

It’s always festive to add some fun stuff like candy canes or peppermint chocolates to your cookie gift box. Finally, all you need is a cute cookie tin, and some holiday themed ribbon for the perfect finishing touch! The tins I used are linked here from Target, I also found mini versions at Hobby Lobby. Other fun ideas are including the recipes in your box and festive gift tags to let your loved ones know who baked these delicious treats!
